When work becomes play… Award-winning bay area Stitzlein Studio asked me to design some fun, furry icons to complement their new typeface, HAMSTER.
Not only are these cute and filled with character, but they are simplified down to two colors to match the bold, cheery font palettes. Adorbs!

FROM BRAND DISCOVERY TO FINAL LOGO DESIGN
Hamster Research:
The discovery phase of this project found some cute and hilarious imagery. Who knew a world existed where people dressed up their pet hamsters?
Font Research:
The hamster icons had to mimic the fun nature of the font itself. Rounded edges and a two-tone color palette were essential. The chubbier the cheeks, the better!
Sketch:
From this research, a large number of fun sketches followed. I wanted to bring some character to these funny little creatures and included both full figures and head shots.
